Cal Thomas Receives Media Research Center’s William F. Buckley Award
On Saturday, May 7, America's most widely syndicated political columnist, Cal Thomas, was presented the Media Research Center's (MRC) fifth annual "William F. Buckley Award for Media Excellence" at a gala with more than 800 in attendance at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.
Thomas paid tribute to Buckley for inspiring his quest to become a columnist, thanked Los Angeles Times publisher Tom Johnson for giving him the initial chance at writing a column and expressed gratitude for having been given "the gift of writing."
The MRC's mission is to bring balance to the news media. Past winners of the award include Tony Snow and Brit Hume.
