Harry Bliss

Harry Bliss is a renowned cartoonist, best-selling picture book artist and cover artist for The New Yorker. His cartoon panel, "Bliss," is syndicated by Tribune Media Services.

Bliss has published 15 covers and numerous cartoons and illustrations for The New Yorker. Bliss has also illustrated dozens of book covers for writers such as Lawrence Block, Dorothy Uhnak, Bob Dole, Sharon Creech and Fiona Buckley. He has received awards of excellence from Print, Communication Arts and Inc. magazines; the Society of Illustrators; the National Society of News Design; and the Art Directors Club of New York.

A well-known children's picture book artist, Bliss has illustrated "A Fine, Fine School" by Newbery Award-winning author Sharon Creech, a New York Times best-seller, and "Mrs. Watson Wants Your Teeth" by Alison McGhee, chosen by Child Magazine as one of the best books of 2004, among others. In 2007, he released the third book in the "Diary of" series, "Diary of a Fly," with writer Doreen Cronin.

Amidst a family of successful painters and illustrators, Bliss studied painting at The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Illustration at The University of the Arts, and Syracuse University. He lives in South Burlington, Vt.
