Kate Mepham
Kate Mepham lives in a rural market town in the Southwest of England, where she manages her businesses Crosswords Ltd., MM Multimedia, Michael Mepham Publishing and Sudoku.org.uk. Mepham's interests vary from lexicology, art, games and media; she is a keen cruciverbalist.
Games and puzzles have been a part of her life since she was a child when she first saw her father, Michael Mepham, creating programs to generate them. Mepham officially started working for her father creating puzzles, quizzes and word games during the Sudoku boom.
Mepham now follows in her father's footsteps and compiles one of the UK's most popular general knowledge crosswords for the London Daily Telegraph, as well as host of word-based puzzles to media outlets across the globe.
She understands the importance of high-quality puzzles, which provide entertainment, stimulation, escapism, education and a challenge. She feels that they should keep the mind active and offer interesting facts and words: "They should be neither patronizing nor unachievable. Puzzles are an important part of people's lives and daily routine and shouldn't be underestimated."
