Ta-Nehisi Coates is a senior editor and writer for The Atlantic and its website, where he writes about culture, politics and social issues. Coates has been called "the young James Joyce of the hip-hop generation." He has written for Time, the Washington Post, New York Times Magazine, Village Voice, Washington Monthly, O and Slate. Coates is also the author of the book "The Beautiful Struggle: A Father, Two Sons, and an Unlikely Road to Manhood," published in 2008.
