Tim Rickard
Tim Rickard is an award-winning cartoonist, illustrator and graphic artist for the News & Record in Greensboro, N.C. He's also the creator of "Brewster Rockit: Space Guy!," the hysterical space adventure strip syndicated by Tribune Media Services.
Rickard has worked as a freelance artist and cartoonist for newspapers, books, magazines and Web sites. After writing a popular "Star Wars" parody, he was inspired to create a comic strip that combined the best elements of space adventure and humor -- and the bold and zany "Brewster Rockit: Space Guy!" was born.
The multi-talented Rickard has received numerous illustration and graphics awards, including 15 North Carolina Press Association awards (he received the first place awards for both illustration and graphics in 2004); four Society for News Design awards; and a Print magazine regional design award. He's designed and illustrated more than three-dozen book covers and his humorous illustrations have appeared in numerous popular publications, including Better Homes and Gardens and The Washington Post.
Rickard graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College with a Bachelor's degree in art. He's a member of Mensa, which means his remarkably large brain houses all sorts of inane science fiction facts ideal for creating "Brewster Rockit: Space Guy!"
